The BLAT! Pack is back at it again bringing you one of the livest monthly hip hop events in not only Lansing, but Michigan wide!

Come join us Wednesday, September 1st (and every first Wednesday of each month after that!) as we bring you the best and brightest up and coming artists from Michigan and beyond!

We’re making a lot of changes to be positive that everyone that comes out has the best possible experience and we’re working v…ery hard to live up to your expectations of what the BLAT! Pack is capable of, so PLEASE come join us and bring all of your friends!

RE:Defintion is not only about us, it’s about giving local artists an opportunity to expose themselves to a new audience and to give Lansing something to look forward to every month, so the more of you that come out and support and enjoy the show, the better future RE:Defs are going to be (i.e. bigger national acts…). We want to start this round of RE:Definition off right, so make sure you’re out there Wednesday September 1st!

We wanted to start you off with just a taste before we share the full project with you so you can get the 3-song single off iTunes for just $2.97. We did this for a couple reasons. For one, we wanted to give you a low ticket item for you to be able to support us. We know times are rough all around so we ain’t trying to break your backs out here. Also, and more importantly we want to take our time with you, the listener. Too often I feel cats are flooding the market with song after song devaluing themselves and the music as a whole. We want to take our time with it and give you the opportunity to digest our music slowly. We promise not to treat our music as a dime a dozen if you do as well. Of course immediately after this we’re gonna hit you with mixtape after mixtape because I just can’t sit on all this hot fire sen. You know it’s all sweet 16′s from here on out. lol. jk (i hope). Fowl of the Blat!Pack!

ST. Andrews went bezerk, when Fowl slayed all emsee’s who dared challenge the D in the Red Bull Emsee Battle. He got to the finals with DNA, the emsee from New York, who was killing them to get to the finals. But when he came up against Fowl and the support and love that the Detroit crowd was giving, it was a wrap. When DNA started trying to win over the crowd with his chant of “313 Follow Me” he was answered with a round of “BOOOOO’s”!! This threw the rapper all off his game and he couldnt finish his freestyle. Exit, Stage Left! Every round Fowl commanded, the judges which consisted of the legends Mr. Porter, The Alchemist and Slim Shady himself, all agreed every battle Fowl won hands down. This up and coming member of the BLAT! Pack (a collection of some of the dopest emcees I have ever heard) was not playing when he took on the task of representing Detroit in the battle. He came, he saw, he conquered. Well Done!!

This is the first leak off the I still love Detroit Vol 2 mixtape, put together and hosted by Wanja of www.istillloveher.de and mixed by the incredible (Detroits own) Dj Primeminister.

The tape will be released Sept 24th at Oslos in Detroit (all infos on the flyer to your left), if you`re in town, make sure you come out, I´m flyin in all the way from Germany.
If you have heard Vol 1, you already know what to expect. A mix of Detroits most talented underground Hip Hop talent, some you may have heard of and some who you are about to become a fan of.

Dante LaSalle’s Hundreds of live shows, and 7 indepen-

dent releases aren’t the reason he is one of the many

strong performers breaking out of the rich Detroit Hip

Hop scene. All the things this young artist has been

able to accomplish outside of his local scene has really

set him apart. With his surprisingly dance filled, soulful

live show Dante has toured North America and Europe

extensively over the past several years. Dante has

shared the stage with everyone from Method Man to

Aphex Twin, KRS 1 to Fishbone, Ghostface to Atmo-

sphere, D12 to Sage Francis and everyone in between.

As a recording artist Dante’s debut solo release Roaming

Empire was the most added hip hop album when it was

released to college radio, and burst up to #2 on the CMJ

Hip Hop charts for several weeks, helping to earn

Dante’s label Havoc a distribution deal and him a spot

at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin several years

running.

With his newest release “Back in Blue” Dante LaSalle is

effectively blurring the lines between album and

mixtape formats. “Back in Blue” is a loose narrative

about the current state of Detroit and Michigan in the

midst of the country’s worst unemployment situation

in years. The varied and sincere work here runs under

an hr and moves more quickly than that. Featuring

original songs among reworked versions of some of his

favorite music Dante LaSalle has put together his most

interesting project to date.

“Back in Blue” serves as a segue to Dante’s 2nd full

length solo release due later this year.
